Weekly View for Case Notes
Overview
The Case Notes weekly view gives you a bird's-eye picture of an entire week of documentation at a glance. Instead of navigating day by day, you can see all of your case notes plotted on a vertical timeline across seven columns — one per day — so you can immediately spot where your documentation is strong and where there are gaps.
Enabling the Weekly View
The weekly view is an opt-in experimental feature. To turn it on:
- Click your name or profile icon in the top-right corner and go to My Settings.
- Select the Experimental Features tab.
- Find Weekly case notes and toggle it on.
- Navigate to any of your Case Notes pages (TCM, EI, or Custom). You will now see a Daily / Weekly toggle at the top of the page.
Reading the Timeline
When you switch to Weekly view, you'll see a 7-column grid where each column represents one day of the week.
Case Note Blocks
Each case note appears as a colored block positioned on a shared time axis. The vertical position and height of a block represent when the note started and how long it lasted.
Block colors indicate approval status:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🟢 Green | Approved |
| 🔴 Red | Rejected |
| ⚫ Gray | Pending review (not yet approved or rejected) |
Documentation Gaps
If there is uncovered time between the first and last note of a day, a dashed red/orange block appears in that window. This is a documentation gap — time where you had started and ended documentation for the day, but left a stretch unaccounted for. Gaps only appear between your first and last note; time before your first note or after your last note of the day is not flagged.
Day Column Headers
Each day header shows:
- The day name and date
- A note count badge indicating how many notes are logged
- A productivity progress bar showing how many minutes of documented time you have relative to your daily working-hours target (green = at or above target, red = below)
Locked Notes
A lock icon (🔒) appears in the top-right corner of any note block that has been locked. Locked notes cannot be edited.
Navigating Between Views
- Click any day header to switch back to the Daily view for that specific date.
- Click any note block to switch to the Daily view for that date and open that note directly for editing (unless it is locked, in which case you are taken to the daily view without opening the editor).
- Click any gap block to go to the daily view for that date so you can add a note to fill the gap.
Week Navigation
- Use the ← → arrows to move backward or forward one week at a time.
- Use the calendar icon to jump to any specific date.
- If you are not on the current week, a Current Week button appears to bring you back.
Tips
- The time axis automatically adjusts its range to fit the earliest and latest notes across the week. On weeks with no notes, it defaults to 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
- The weekly view is read-only — you cannot create or edit notes directly in it. Use it to review and identify gaps, then click through to the daily view to act.
- Each module (TCM, EI, Custom) has its own weekly view that shows only that module's notes, keeping the timeline focused and easy to read.
